Nfl Recap Week 8
Titans 31 Colts 21
For the first 2 1/2 quarters the Titans looked like shit. Their rush defense was gashed, the offensive line while it did protect Kerry, they didnt open up many holes for the running backs. Then all of a sudden a switch was turned on and they scored 25 straight points. Even though there were drops Kerry made some terrific throws and lead them to several scoring drives. Both White and Chris Johnson made great touchdown runs. The Colts are just in disarray. Yeah the played inspired for most of the game but they just dont look the same. Im just estatic that the Titans for the first time I can ever remember have a great secondary. If you would have told me at the beginning of the season that after game 7, the Titans would have a 4 game lead in the division, I would have called the looney bin to come pick you up. It would take a colossal fuck up to not make the playoffs which was all I was hoping for. If your team only allows two sacks (thats given up in one quarter for the Steelers) after 7 games then you should be close to a perfect record. Im happy but not totally satisfied.
Cowboys 13 Bucs 9
Looks like the Cowboys D showed up when it had to. They still need to do something about the quarterback position till Romo is back. Old country BJ won but didnt look good in the process.Redskins 25 Lions 17
Another solid game from the Redskins but it was only the Lions. Santana Moss if having a terrific season.
Dolphins 25 Bills 16
How many times do the Dolphins have to win against teams to no longer qualify as an upset? Chad Pennington is playing pretty damn good.
Patriots 23 Rams 16
Patriots pulled out a squeeker. The Rams are definitely playing better under Haslett.
Saints 37 Chargers 32
Drew Brees once again played mvp type football. They could be real dangerous if there defense ever rounds into form. The England chaps got to see a good game.
Jets 28 Chiefs 24
Brett is still gunslinging and barely got away with it this time. The Jets are in trouble if they arent more consistent in their offense.
Eagles 27 Falcons 14
Westbrook was back to his old form. One of the most underrated players in the Nfl.
Panthers 27 Cardinals 23
Just when the Cards have a chance to make a national statement they once again become the Cards.
Ravens 29 Raiders 10
What a beautiful pass and catch from Troy Smith to Flacco. Ravens are heading in the right direction.
Browns 23 Jags 17
Thank you Browns. I guess Derek Anderson isnt through quite yet. Man if the Jags cant run they just fall apart.
Giants 21 Steelers 14
Should have been 28 points but the Giants were screwed on that goal line call. They punched them in the mouth and got the win. Very impressive.
Seahawks 34 49ers 13
Yawn. The best thing about this game was Singletary's press conference afterwards.

Well well well.... it looks like the Cowboys snuck in a win. The defense did finally show up holding the Bucs to 3 FGs. Even though DeMarcus Ware's sack streak went by the wayside, the Dallas D got a lot of pressure on Garcia. I think that Wade may have taken control of the defensive play calling a little more from Brian Stewart in this game. I still think Cowboys CB Anthony " 11 yard cushion " Henry is one of the worst starting CBs in the entire league, but the defense made the stops when it had to for the most part. In saying that, is the same kind of hard playing and fundamentally sound defense going to show up next week against the G Men ? The answer to that question is still very much uncertain in my mind. What was Old Country BJ's stats in the game ? 19 for 32 or something like that. Not good. But at least he didn't throw 3 INTs like the week before. On Dallas Sports Talk Radio today they were joking that maybe Jason Garrett needs to dig his old uniform out of the closet and suit up again. They argued, that he already knows the playbook and that he'd be better than Brad Johnson. That of course was a joke and would not happen and would be ridiculous if in Bizarro World it did, but honestly Garrett would fair as well. Then a caller proposed that 80 year old Jim Garrett ( Jason's father ) would be better than Brad Johnson. After seeing Jim Garrett on Hard Knocks, that is a funny thought. Old Country BJ would have to have a great game against the Giants in order for the Cowboys to come out with a W and I personally don't see him being great at this stage in his career. If the Cowboys get down by 10, Brooks has to come into the game and replace OCBJ in my opinion. I never thought that I'd miss Romo so much, even with his stupid and uncalled 1 or 2 INTs a game. Now onto the Titans, " The tale of two halves. " What a great secondary and very, very well coached up. AAKC is an efficient passer and game manager. His throws are still very accurate and you can just tell by watching him that he is a smart QB, he knows just what to do to get the yards they need and he still has the ability to do it. That is the difference between AAKC and OCBJ, OCBJ knows what to do, he just can't do it and AAKC can and does. The Titan O line finally started to impose their will on the Colts D Line in the second half and when you are as big as those Titan Hogs you should do just that. Great Job. The Colts have a major problem here... a very young and inexperienced defense and an aging and old offense. That's not a good combo. I'd prefer it the other way around any day of the week. And when they say that the Titans have had an easy schedule thus far ( the Colts not withstanding ) I just don't buy it. I mean, every team is trying to win and beat the other. Every team has talent and no one single team in the NFL is a push-over ( Raiders excluded ). There are no Baylor VS. UT games in the NFL. The talent level of NFL teams across the board is very close. The Titans are undefeated and deserve the respect that brings. They are a very good team which should go far this season. Until next week.
