Black Water Movie Review
I love animal attack movies for some odd reason, even though almost all of them suck ass. I had mild expectations for this one except I knew it was based on true events. Usually when you hear those words that means its going to be boring as hell. That was pretty much true for most of this movie. The story is very simple, its about 3 friends and a guide that go out in the Australian bayous for a relaxing day when all of a sudden the boat is overturned by a croc. Pretty much the rest of the movie the 3 friends are up in the trees trying to decide how to get back to the boat and get the fuck out of there. So about an hour of the movie is just waiting and looking and a little bit of dialogue. Unfortunately the dialogue is not that great and the characters are boring. There is very little set up so you dont have anything invested in any of the characters.
The Crocodile effects were pretty cool and there are a few frightening moments but they are far and few between. The movie had potential to be much more than what it turned out to be. Its not bad but not quite good either. On a scale of 1-10 I give it a water logged gun 5.8 out of 10.
