Favorite Movies of 2008

I finally have my listed narrowed down to the top 20 movies I saw this year regardless of genre. Having seen close to 300 movies this year it was pretty tough to narrow it down. Now the top 5 were all movies I think were easily the top of the class for this year. The other 15 I had a tough time narrowing it down and deciding what order to put them in. Without further ado.

1. Let The Right One In- The more I see this movie the more I like it. Beautiful cinematography, top notch acting and musical score. A true modern horror classic.

2. The Wrestler- This one was close to the top spot but not quite the masterpiece. It was a masterpiece performance from Mickey Rourke though.

3. Slumdog Millionaire- It flirted with the #1 and #2 spots for a moment. Truly the best feel good movie of the year.

4. Rec- This was the #1 movie on my list for a majority of the year. The best pure horror movie of the year.

5. The Dark Knight- First time I saw it I liked it. The second time I saw it in Blu Ray it blew me away. Another awesome Nolan film.

6. The Lost- great Jack Ketchum adaption. An amazing performance by the lead.

7. Wanted- The best action movie of the year. I thought I was going to hate it from the trailer.

8. Bigger, Stronger, Faster- This documentary had me grinning from ear to ear.

9. Seven Pounds- I think im the only one who's giving this movie end of the year list love. Every person I know that seen it thought it was awesome.

10. Step Brothers- The only comedy on my top 20. Funny as hell.

11. Poultrygeist- Im a fan of the good Troma movies and this one is the best one yet.

12. Purple Violets- Ed Burns is the modern day Woody Allen. Go check his movies out.

13. Burn After Reading- If not for the abrupt ending it would have rated even higher on my list.

14. Cloverfield- I went into it with the right expectations and enjoyed every second of it.

15. CJ7- a highly underlooked underrated kids movie from Stephen Chow.

16. Red Cliff pt 1.- John Woo is back. Cant wait till part 2 is released.

17. Red- My second Jack Ketchum adaption in my top 20. A movie for dog lovers.

18. Transsiberian- My favorite Brad Anderson movie yet. Great thriller.

19. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button- another solid Fincher movie that I had extremely high hopes for.

20. Iron Man- A great origin movie with a terrific performance by Robert Downey Jr.

I didn't see In Bruges on you list or Wall E, which I enjoyed both. Personally I hate Cloverfield. Some of the others I haven't seen yet.
