Favorite Albums of 2008

It was not even close for the #1 spot. I didnt get to listen to as much metal as I would have liked but one of my resolutions is to keep up better this year.

1. Testament - Formation of Damnation

This was not even close. Ive been waiting for this album for 9 years and they did not disappoint. They also won the Golden God album of the year by Metal Hammer and was picked #1 by my favorite metal site www.metal-rules.com Im just happy they are finally getting some recognition after decades of kick ass music.

2. Cavalera Conspiracy - Inflikted

Igor and Max back together again making beautiful music. Closest thing to classic Sepultura in over a decade. Album gets better with each listen.

3. Metallica - Death Magnetic

Their best album since Black. Lots of great tunes. Lets hope they stay in this mode.

4. Meshuggah - Obzen

Awesome brutal album. One of their best.

5. Amon Amarth - Twilight of the Thunder Gods

Awesome death classic metal.

6. Soulfly - Conquer

The second kick ass album on my list from Max Cavalera.

7. Byzantine - Oblivion Beckons

Solid album by these hardcore thrashers.

8. Cradle of Filth - Godspeed On Devils Thunder

Another solid album by Cof that get better with each listen.

9. White Chapel - This Is Exile

Not usually a fan of this type of Death/Hardcore but I liked it.

10. Krisiun - Southern Storm
