Horror Weekend Movie Wrapup
Didnt get to see quite as many horror movies as I would have liked Halloween week but I did still see a lot. Most of the better ones like House, Mirrors, and Return to Sleepaway Camp I reviewed separately but here is the rest. I'll start here from worst to first.Hate 2 O
Directed by Alex Infascelli
Availability on dvd
Not only the worst movie I saw this week but one of the worst movies Ive seen this year in general. Its basically an art house movie trying to be disguised as a horror movie. I made it one hour before I couldnt take any more. All its about is a bunch of feminists that go on a trip to meditate on their problems, drink water and get headaches. No exaggeration. I wanted to shoot myself. Usually when I shit on a movie this bad its because of low budget, bad acting, or bad direction. I actually thought the music was cool and the director has potential but the story was so fucking bad.
Dead Space Downfall

Available on dvd and blu ray
I can only recommend this if you are a fan of the game and want to see the prequel story. Its super basic plot and the same shit over and over. I love horror animation and this movie was pretty boring.Blood Wars
Available on dvd
Cheesy low budget vampire movie starring Tony Todd. Tony how far have you fallen since the Candyman days? This movie plot was way too ambitious for the budget. Its about a vampire coven that controls a college campus and they are in battle with some magic humans (sentry's?) Mix in some cheesy college kids and a passive nerd that gets bit and becomes the chosen one to kill the coven and its leader trying to usurp the throne. The only positive I can really think of was the fight choreography at the end of the movie. I thought that part was decent. Still pretty bad movie.Knock Knock
Available on dvd

Wow a very typical low budget slasher. Not too many redeeming values. It does have some fine ass chicks and the first kill of the movie made me jump. It had a typical 80's slasher storyline but without the cool cheesy feel. There were a couple of cool gore shots like the girl's stomach being blowtorched but that was far and few between. A very cheese anticlimatic ending. Only for slasher purists.Brain Dead

From the director of the underrated Night of the Demons. Speaking of that I cant wait for the remake. This movie is another low budget alien demon zombie movie. Started off with mass potential but ended up being just ok. Another movie that might have been too ambitious for its budget. The acting was pretty bad and the smart ass guy in the movie got pretty annoying fast. Still it had some solid edited, good gore and effects. It was a fun watch.Trailer Park of Terror
Available on dvd

Another fun std horror movie. The movie is about this white trash chick that makes a deal with the devil, kills everyone in the trailer park and then resides as the zombie demon queen. A pastor and a busload of juvenile kids that are on some kind of rehabilitation trip break down in the rain and have to flee to the trailer park for shelter. When they arrive they are met by the white trash chick who starts to tell them the story of what happened to her. After the wild story the kids go to different trailers that are unoccupied to rest for the night. One by one the white trash demon residents start killing the kids one by one. The ending was pretty average but I still enjoyed the movie overall.

So this week I saw a lot of bad horror movies and a few cheesy fun ones sprinkled in. Here are the individual ratings on each. On a scale of 1-10.
Hate 2 O: 1.1
Dead Space Downfall: 3.6
Blood Wars: 3.9
Knock Knock: 4.3
Brain Dead: 6.3
Trailer Park of Terror: 6.9

Sounds like a rough weekend. I saw Trailer Park of Terror and thought it was pretty messed up in parts, but wasn't amused by most of it.
