Mosh It Up Baby
Artist: Children of Bodom
Album: Blooddrunk
I absolutely love the first 3 children of bodom albums. I was a huge fan from the very first listen. They were unique and fresh take on melodic power/thrash metal. When their 4th album Hate Crew Deathroll came out it seems like they lost some of their originality or they were trying too hard to be commercial. That album and their 5th album Are You Dead Yet were both disappointments to me. Now they are about to drop their 6th studio album and I was hoping they were going to catch their former glory. I would say the album is good but not close to their earlier work. I probably like it more than Hate Crew Deathroll and Are You Dead Yet but not by much. Ive only heard it a few times so it may grow on me yet. On a positive note I really liked the vocals I just wish there were more progressive neo classical moments. My favorite track is Lobodomy with its awesome drumming and break down section. I wish the whole album was more that style.
Verdict: Worth checking it out for COB fans and fans of this style.
