Mosh It Up Baby!
Every week im gonna post some new reviews on metal releases new and old. The review scale is gonna be simple. If its good then it will be listed as acquire by your favorite method. If its ok then ill put worth a listne: which means go to the website or check them out at cdnow.com and listen for yourself. If its crap then the verdict will be skip. This week features Powerglove, Warbringer, and an old classic by Watch Tower.

Artist: Powerglove
Album: Total Pwnage
Besides the brilliant name and concept the album wears thin after a few listens. Yes they are a power/classic metal instrumental band that plays Nintendo theme songs. They cover classic themes such as Tetris, Mega Man, Fzero and Final Fantasy. The Tetris one really had me smiling but its mainly just nostalgia and not much meat to the music. The album is only 7 songs and clocks in at just under 21 minutes.
Verdict: Worth a listen for Nintendo fanboys

Artist: Watch Tower
Album:Energetic Disassembly
This is a rare album from a bunch of Texas boys released back in 1985 and re-released in 2004. Its hard to describe but its basically prog-techno-metal in the vein of Rush but without all the keyboards. I was surprised at how good it was even though the production values arent very good. The singer eventually quit and formed Dangerous Toys. Very underrated.
Verdict: Aquire by your favorite method!

Artist:Warbringer
Album: One By One, The Wicked Fall
I saved the best for last. Hell yeah this is thrash metal at its best. The album has an authentic early thrash sound thats full of energy. Nothing too original but it doesnt matter. A lot of the album sounds very similar to Vengeance Rising from guitar tone to some of the vocals. This is a 5 song ep that clocks in around 19 headbanging mosh pit minutes. I cant wait till their full length album.
Verdict: Aquire by any means necessary!

If this was their marketing campaign I think the real PowerGlove would have caught on!
