Abominable DVD Review
Even though i didnt officially see this when it screened at the festival; I have seen this movie twice when it aired on Sci Fi a few months back. This movie is actually quite fun and entertaining. I wasnt expected much especially since it was a sci fi debut. The last sci fi debut of prominence was the crap fests return of the living dead 4 and 5. It actually surpassed all expectations of what i was hoping it was going to be. This isnt any pg-13 snatch stuff; it gets gory and bloody once the killing starts.
The movie starts with paralyzed Preston Rogers (Matt Mccoy) moving into a cabin in the woods with his physical thereapist. Next door to him a group of women move into a cabin for a weekend getaway. Shortly after Preston sees a bigfoot take one of the girls thats outside on her cellphone. Then the phone line goes out, the therapist goes to the store and Prestons left alone to try and warn the girls. His laptop works but the police laugh it off of course. There is a great great cameo by Lance Henrickson and Jeffrey Combs thats right in the middle of the movie. It does feel awkward the way its placed in the movie, but its still a great scene nonetheless. Finally the Bigfoot shows up, kills the girls and one of the girls escapes and goes to Preston for help. So this crippled dude and this blonde chick are forced to battle the Bigfoot to the death.

The movie was fun, enjoyable and definitely a good weekend popcorn flick. Cool death scenes some great gore and an all out good time. Its out today 10/03/2006 on dvd.
