This is a crazy Japanese exploitation trilogy. They are Sword of Justice, The Snare and Who's Got the Gold. It stars Shintaro Katsu aka mr. Zatoichi himself. Besides being a samurai there is nothing else similiar with this series and the Zatoichi series. Shintaro play Hanzo a vigilante samurai policeman who does what he wants and when he wants. He has a couple of servants that help him out and a booby trapped house that saves his hide more than once. All 3 movie plots are standalone movies but they all flow better if watched in succession. Hanzo is the mack daddy of bad ass samurai's. He has honor and dignity like most samurai but he definitely marches to his own beat. He tortures himself to help keep in shape and focused. Some of his techniques are to stack heavy rocks on himself and he also rams his schlong into a bag of rice over and over to make it stronger. Why would he do that? Cuz that is how he gets his female suspects to spill their guts. He captures them, ties them up in some cases and pounds them or spins them ( you have to see what i mean) until they are in so much pleasure/pain they tell him anything he wants. Plain and simple the dude is the Man. Its hilarious, crazy and just so different that it rules. If you like Zatoichi, Lone Wolf and Cub, or any samurai movies then this is definitely recommended.
