Dead In 3 Days (aka In 3 Tagen bist du tot) Movie Review
Directed by Andreas Prochaska and Stewart St. John
Available now on dvd
Well it had a lot going for it in my mind right out the bat. It has a decent looking cover, its European, and its a slasher. Too bad there such a thing as a plot and story that had to get in the way. Its pretty much an Austrian version of I Know What You Did Last Summer. A group of high school kids get a text claiming "You Will Be Dead In 3 Days". One by one the kids get picked off by a mysterious stranger because of something that they were part of when they were kids. Yawn. I wont say its total shit cuz there were a few things that I liked. Every time they played some music it wasnt just random background soundtrack it was what the kids were listening to in the car and singing to or it was the kids at a concert. I thought that was cool. Also the aesthetic of the movie had an 80ish type of vibe that I liked. My favorite thing of the movie was the one awesome kill it had. There is a decapitation by fish aquarium that had me cringing in delight. Other than that I was bored to tears and It also had a ho hum sub par ending to top it off. Still not certain if I understand the ending fully. Highlight here to see my thoughts: I think it was the mother of the kid who was killing people? She wore her dead husbands face as part of her disguise? End of spoiler. Anyways I was too bored to go back and try to figure it out. The sequel is suppose to be out sometime soon on dvd and the reviews say its a lot better and gorier. That doesn't surprise me at all. It cant help but be. There are so many better movies out there to watch that I cant really recommend it to the average non slasher fanatic. On a scale of 1-10 I give this a dead deer 5.1 out of 10.
