Resident Evil Degeneration Dvd Review
Directed by Makoto Kamiya
Available on dvd 12/30/2008
I'll start off by saying im a huge fan of Resident Evil video games. I think Ive played all of them but Outbreak for the ps2. I hate the live action movies but the games are a blast. Resident Evil 4 for the wii is unbelievable. So when I heard there was going to be an all cgi movie I was pretty excited. Luckily the movie did not disappoint.
Heres synopsis that I found:
The "Umbrella Incident" that took place in Raccoon City was ended with the eradication of the deadly virus by a missile attack ordered by the government. As its operations were suspended on a global scale, Umbrella Corporation stock plummeted. This serious blow to the business giant resulted in its complete dissolution. 7 years later, at an airport somewhere in the United States.
A zombie attack brings chaos to Harvardville Airport. Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield , who fought the sinister Umbrella Corporation during the Raccoon City tragedy 7 years ago, are back. In high-octane Resident Evil style, they're ready to battle a rogue warrior who is seeking revenge after his family was killed in Raccoon City. The deadly G-Virus is unleashed and a new mutated monster goes on the rampage. Will Claire and Leon be able to terminate the virus before history repeats itself?
The cgi was pretty solid overall. Occasionally it was fantastic but mostly I would say it was on the level of ps3 or xbox 360 cut scenes. The first 1/3rd of the story when Leon and Claire fight against the zombies and rescue the people, were my favorite. The middle section it does bog down a little with some melodrama and long plot. The last 1/3rd it kicks back into high gear with another awesome battle scene against the dude thats infected with the g virus. The movie is not groundbreaking but its a fun extra story to add to the Resident Evil universe. On a scale of 1-10 I give it a 'fat fuck pushing down a little girl' 7.8 out of 10.
