What a fucking cheesy awesome movie. Robert Hiltzik the director of the original Sleepaway Camp captured the 80's slasher feel to a tee! I swear to God the first minute of the movie I thought it was a flashback to the original. I love this current trend of 80's type of slasher movies like this and Gutterballs. Just like Gutterballs the movie has some annoying fucking characters and terrible actors. To me I just look at them as people you love to hate but Im sure for a lot of viewers it will be a deal breaker to continue to watch the movie.

The movie takes place at a camp 20 years after the events of the first movie. Angela has been locked up in a sanitarium. I know technically it is part 5 but the movie plays as if its the true sequel to the original. Camp manawabe has reopened and its fully of dipshit bratty kids. This one fat fuck loser kid named Alan is the biggest douch of them all. He constantly does stupid shit and pissess everyone off. Of course all the kids pick on him for being a stupid fat ass. Several times in the movie he flips out on people and then a few minutes later the people are killed by a mysterious black clothed killer. The movie is pretty much a whodunit slasher with some cool kills. Some of my favorite kills are the spiked bunk bed kill, the pole through the eye, a bird cage full of rats, and the frying in hot grease. Most of the kills have cool practical effects with some cheesy cgi enhancement that fits in perfect with the tone of the movie.

Overall I had a fun time with the movie and the final twist reveal of the killer tricked me even though thinking back I should have figured it out. It does drag somewhat in the middle and gets a little redundant until the last killing spree. That plus a few minor things stop the movie from being an instant classic. Also of note this is the last on screen performance of Isaac Hayes who has a cameo as a chef. :-) While I know this movie is not for everybody, however if you are a slasher fan then its a must see. On a scale of 1-10 I give this a 'Jeep ripping off a cock' 7.9 out of 10.
