Killer Snakes Movie Review
This is the first non kung fu Shaw Brothers movie Ive ever seen. It had a cool cover and plot summary so I'd thought I would give it a try.
Now the movie itself is not extremely gory or violent, but the fact that is has real snakes, poisonous or not as the supporting cast is disturbing as hell. I hate snakes, they scare the shit out of me; thats probably one reason I find them fascinating. The story is about this loser Chinese dude, Chi Chou that lives next to a snake shop down in a basement. He has erotic dreams about women that you find out in flashbacks stems from his mothers prostitution experiences when he was a kid. He grew up being beaten up by pimps and prostitutes and his only friends are the snakes. He almost has a psychic connection to them but its never really explained or inferred to in the rest of the movie. Anyways the snake shop he lives by takes out the gall bladder from the snakes and cuts them open and the customers drink the juice from the snake. One day a snake that is wounded comes to Chi Chou and he bandages them him up and befriends him. Basically he gets dissed by a girl, loses his job and gets beat up by thugs and pimps. He finally has enough and decides to get revenge but letting loose his cobras and other snakes on the thugs.
There are some good funny kills and one sick scene of naked chick tied up and he puts the cobra between her legs to go to town. It doesnt really show it but its still ends up a fucked up scene. Im probably making it sound better than what it really was. In the end I was thoroughly entertained and its effectively paced. Unless you are a fan of animal attack movies or love/hate snakes like I do then you probably wont be too interested in it. On a scale of 1-10 I give it a venom induced 6.6 out of 10.
Heres the trailer
You have to see this snake video to believe it!
