Dublin Death Patrol
DDP 4 Life Cd review

When I found out one of my favorite singers ever Chuck Billy (Testament) and also former Exodus vocalist Steve "Zetro" Souza were singing together on a new metal side project I was happier than a redneck finding out his little sister finally hit puberty. Their new project band DDP Dublin Death Patrol was named after several of the guys old stomping grounds Dublin, Ca. 11 people performed on the album but there are 9 permanent members of the band. I was skeptical how the dual vocals would work out but after hearing the album they fit together like a glove. Chuck's low sing growl plus Steve's screech singing compliment each other better than expected. They either took turn singing on the verses or one would sing the verse and the other the chorus or on a few songs they would sing at the same time. The music would probably be best described as old school punk speed metal in the vein of Old Suicidal Tendencies and Exodus. Some cool riffs and solo's thrown in but this band is all about the vocals. Listening to these songs you will be headbanging and singing along within minutes. The album flies by with only 12 tracks and each song averaging about 3.5 minutes each which kinda sucks especially since we all know time even flies by faster when you are having fun. Album was released on Friday April 13th and is available at www.dublindeathpatrol.com or from Azureus or your favorite BitTorrent program. Just on fun factor alone i give it a headbanging 8.0 out of 10.
