Mexican Werewolf in Texas Dvd Review
Theres so bad its good and then theres so bad its baaaddd! This movie definitely falls into the latter. I had a good run with std movies being pretty good so I was hoping to extend it with this one. It seems like the chupacabra is a creature thats getting a lot of love on the std market in the past few years. Also this one like the others Ive seen are horrible. It makes me wonder if the chupacabra is a cursed monster and theres no way it could ever be done in a good movie. The movie seems to try to walk the line between campy and serious but you can never tell if it is or not because the acting is so bad. Im talking collectively some of the worst acting Ive seen in years. The only reason I kept watching the movie is because the lead of the movie was so damn cute, and had me hoping that something good would come from the movie. But alas, nope as the time went on the movie got worse and worse. The only other positive that I can give the movie is the creature makeup was pretty decent overall.
The movie is about a chupacabra that comes into a small Texas town and kills all the goats and starts attacking the people. There is a group of kids in town that try to come together to hunt down and kill the beast. The dialogue is so bad and falls flat in almost every scene. It appears to be campy in some parts but the delivery from the actors is so bad its almost impossible to tell for sure. The bad acting award of the movie by far goes to the actor who plays the chupacabra hunter that gets hired by the kids to come kill the monster. Speaking of the monster it looks pretty cool overall but the attacks are done so choppy and Mtv edited that its hard to tell whats even going on.
I honestly cant recommend this to anyone who even remotely likes a good movie. It gets a well deserved 3.0 out of a 10 point scale.
Bonus fake fact: Did you know that Taco Bell considered a chupacabra menu item? It was going to be called a chulupacabra.
Heres the highly deceiving well done trailer
