Game Dr Smack Talk for Xbox 360 ReviewIve been wanting to try this product out for a long time but was very skeptical since ive seen no other reviews and its hefty price of $29.99. Now a few months have passed and I found it on sale this week at Circuit City for only $9.95. I played around with it for a few hours yesterday on Gears of War and come to the conclusion that it rocks! The basic concept on how it works is that you can play 5 different programmed audio clips by a touch of a button. You can record your own voice through the headset, but why you would do that i dont know since you can just say what you want by your own friggin vocal cords in person! That part is kind of goofy but the great thing about it is the ability to record audio clips from a mp3 player or a pc. It can only hold 5 seconds a clip but that is a lot longer than it sounds. I went to a bunch of wav file websites and downloaded a bunch of hilarious movie quotes. After i put them on my ipod i then recorded them onto the smack talk. Its very simple to do you just press the record button on the smack talk then within 5 seconds you have to press the number you want the audio recorded to and press play on your device. Thats it, its that simple. Within 15 minutes I had all 5 slots filled up with funny quotes. Here's an example on how I used them. When I was in a lobby waiting for the game to start I would push a button and then the next thing you heard was smack talk telling everyone a famous Nick Cage line from Face Off saying "Lets go, lets go, im bored lets go". Another example is when I first came into the lobby i would play the 40 yr old virgin clip "wassupmotherfucka"! Then when the game was over and we won i played Bill Paxton's Aliens white trash clip "Game over man, game over!" Another clip that got a great response was Chris Tucker Rush Hour clip "Lord Jesus I dont wanna Die"!
Overall I got a lot of compliments and everyone seemed to enjoy it and some intensely laughed at a few of the clips. The only negative thing I would say is it is kind of bulky but I did get used to it pretty quickly. Since I have a wireless headset which i love by the way, I switched back and forth between that and the wired headset and Smack Talk. I definitely recommend it if you are into this type of thing. It is pretty sturdy and I didnt have any problems with the design of it. One reason it is bulky is because it takes 3 AAA batteries. I give the product a solid 9 and would rate the next version higher if they figure out a way to make it smaller and go over the 5 second limit at least for one or two of the clips, even though a majority of the funny ones are less than 5 seconds anyway. Get it while its still on sale, and im out......gone to download some funny Schwarzenegger and Stallone clips for my next smack talk session
