X men Franchise
The Xmen trilogy just completed and i just got one thing to say. Thank God this franchise is dead!!! How people actually liked any of this trash is beyond me. I grew up reading comic books back in the golden age when they had great story lines and you could actually afford them. I always preferred the Avengers, Spider-man and other more physical based fighting comics better, but i always respected the Xmen for what is was. So when i heard the first one was being made i was fairly stoked.
I left the theater fuming mad! It was an embarrassment. Cheesy sets, costumes and very non epic feel which was different than most other super hero movies before it. Sabretooth sucked, the action was very minimal and weak and the characters were just plain boring. The casting of Captain Picard and Gandalf was awesome but everyone else was a total mismatch. Hugh Jackman is a good actor but hes not the Wolverine as shown in the comic books. Hes too much of a pretty boy and not rough and rugged like in the comics. That doosh that plays cyclops is plain bad. That dude needs to be kicked out of Sag, like yesterday. When i heard that Singer was helming the second one again i was pissed off. Yes it was better, couldnt get worse; but it still suffered from the same deficiencies. So when i heard Ratner was helming the 3rd i was elated it was anyone but Singer. Guess what. That one sucked hard also. Its almost as if the spirit of Singer possessed him and directed the 3rd one also. I would have never known the difference if i didnt know better. Once again the action sucked hard and a bunch of nothing happens. It did have a bigger budget which helped but the pacing was bad and it just sucked again. I really dont get how people like this franchise at all. Guess i never will.
