The Mist 3-D Audio Book Review
The greateast audio book ever. As far as i know its still to date the only 3-d audio book that was ever produced. This is no cheapy 3d surround sound imation. This is true to life what the hell is in front of me, now in back of me, left and right of me, kick A&$ sound effects. I first purchased this almost 15 years ago on cassette and listened to it repeatedly until someone stole it from me. I remember being mesmerized by the awesome voice actors used and the great music and sound effects that fit it perfectly. I was hoping they would make a movie version someday and its been rumored for the past 10 years or so that it was going to be made.
For the people who dont know The Mist is basically about this family and neighbor who survive a weather storm and this impending fog comes rolling over the lake heading towards them. They go into town to the grocery store to get some supplies. Once they are there they get trapped in by the Mist and the creatures that live within. Theres an old cooky religious lady that says this is all prophesized and others who say it is a local medical lab that had experiments gone wrong. Its never really revealed in the story what the cause is. Ive never read the short story by Stephen King just for the fact i think the audio book is perfect and i didnt want anything "ruining" my image of this perfect story. I dont know how faithful of an adaption it is and i dont care. If it is different hopefully Frank Darabont will take some cues from the audio book and adapt them into the movie version. At the very minimum i hope he takes the eerie sounding music. I highly recommend everyone to check it out if the can. Its available through bit torrent files or you can purchase it through Amazon or other online stores.
