THE WAY HOME Dvd Review
Let me tell you about the movie and you can guess what i thought about it. Its a Korean movie about a spoiled little bastard that goes to live with his mute Grandma in the country for a few months while his mom goes off to work. There is probably about two minutes worth of dialogue in the entire movie. This little kid was raised by his mom only (suggested) with no father figure around and he does not respect elders or any other person at all. He pisses on her shoes, steals her stuff to sell and calls her "retard" and totally discrespects her. Thats what the basic plot is about. Sounds pretty boring dont it? So what did i think?
Its a masterpiece. Plain and simple. Its a heart warming tale about a Grandma's love for her grandson and what she is willing to put up with to take care of him. The acting was fantastic and had such an innocent and realistic feel to it. The grandmother had probably the best performance by a super elderly lady that ive seen to date.
I let a lot of co-workers and friends borrow dvd's from time to time and this one by far was the most praised and liked of all of them. Just have some patience and hour and a half to kill and sit back and let the magic work on you. Just to let all you "reading haters" out there know it is subtitled so there is very minimal dialogue to digest. Highly recommended!!!
