BlackOut Movie Review
Directed by Rigoberto Castaneda
Starring Amber Tamblyn
This is the kind of movie that I can imagine teenage girls would scream for. It has a slick production and a recognizable star for kids so im surprised it didnt have a theatrical release. It says its rated R but you could have fooled me with a few more edits Im sure the Pg-13 horror crowd would have seen it. Thats the problem with the movie is in certain parts it has potential but they play it way too cliched and safe. The movie also seemed to have a quick running time despite its actually almost 2 hours. It almost felt more like an hour long episode of a cop show on tv.
The movie centers around 3 people that get trapped in an elevator. One of them is a serial killer. Thats basically it. Nothing more nothing less. Majority of the movie is pointless flashbacks that show how they got to the elevator. The action was lame, no tension created and not even any jump scares.

The acting and directing was adequate but nothing in the story was compelling. It has a slick production and im sure with good editing a slick trailer could be cut for it. I was severely disappointed and couldnt wait till the movie was over. There was a super hot chick in the killer's flashback but alas no skin was shown. Amber didnt even show any skin or even a nip. If you are a 14 yr old chick then this might be up your ally but for everybody else I couldnt even begin to recommend it. On a scale of 1-10 I give this a "cliched arm cut off by elevator" 3.6 out of 10.
